EDUCATION:
I received my Master's degree in clinical psychology from Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio. Prior to that, I earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology from the University of Cincinnati. In addition, I have consistently worked to further my training by taking numerous continuing education courses every year to remain up-to-date with the latest information and therapeutic counseling techniques. EXPERIENCE: I first began practicing psychotherapy in 1974 as a counselor for persons admitted to a large metropolitan hospital in my home town of Cincinnati, Ohio. I went on to work for several community mental health centers in Ohio and Montana in various therapeutic and managerial capacities. This included serving for 12 years as the Clinical Director at two mental health centers and as the Director/CEO of another for 8 years. As a Clinical supervisor, I supervised literally dozens of therapists, while continuing to develop my own clinical practice expertise. I was exposed to a multitude of therapeutic models and all the newest techniques that have proven to be helpful to my clients. For the past 18 years, I have been in private practice in Helena, Montana, as the owner of Big Sky Counseling. My general practice serves mainly adults, adolescents, and couples. In addition, I have facilitated a weekly anger management men's group for the last 13 years. I also provide phone counseling with my internet-based service, Tele-Therapist.
